Police Seek Help Identifying Woman Found Dead In East Austin

Discovery was made along the 1500 block of East State Highway 71 just before 7:20 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 13, police said.

AUSTIN, TX — Police are seeking help from the public in identifying a woman found dead last month in East Austin.

The discovery was made along the 1500 block of East State Highway 71 just before 7:20 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 13. In a press advisory, police said it appears the body had been there several days. At the time of her death, the woman was wearing a maroon-colored Lane Bryan tee in size 18/20 with large size black and gray shorts.

The woman is described as being five feet, one inch tall, heavyset with light brown hair of medium length. She has no tattoos or piercings and was missing some upper and lower teeth. The cause of death has not yet been determined, but the death does not appear suspicious, police said.

Police released photos of the types of garments worn by the dead woman when she was found.
