'Queer Eye' Sets Casting Sights In Central Texas

AUSTIN, TX — The producers of the TV hit "Queer Eye" are casting in Central Texas for people to appear on the makeover show, according to reports.

"Specifically, we're looking for deserving people, couples, families, friends and co-workers within a 90-minute radius of Austin who could truly benefit from a 'make-better' from our Fab 5 — Tan France (Fashion), Jonathan Van Ness (Grooming), Antoni Porowski (Food), Bobby Berk (Interior Design), and Karamo Brown (Culture)."

Part of the lineup on the cable television network Bravo, the show features a team of gay professionals in various areas of expertise (the aforementioned "Fab Five") who go about performing makeovers (or "make-betters" in their parlance), usually for hapless heterosexuals less refined on such self-improvement as it relates to wardrobe, decorating, grooming and other areas.

"Whether you are thinking of your sibling, parent, spouse, colleague or a dear friend, if you know a truly deserving person (or couple or small group of people) with a compelling story, we want to hear from you," the show's producers wrote in a casting call.

To submit a nomination, each of the following parts of a questionnaire below should be filled out. The name and a photo of the nominee also should be included in the submission.

Queer Eye Casting Questionnaire

• Full names and ages of both the nominator and hero.
• Current city/state for both the nominator and hero.
• Recent photos for both the nominator and hero.
• Phone Number and Email addresses for the nominator.
• Background information on how you know your hero.
• A brief description of your hero's story (i.e. their current situation, what they do for a living, number of children if any, relationship status, etc.).
• How could your hero use help in the following categories: Food; fashion; culture; interior design; and grooming.
• Any important events coming up in your hero's life requiring their preparation.
• Why it's important now that your hero gets help from the Fab 5? What is at stake for them?
• Links to social media for both the nominator and hero (such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Youtube).
