Rain, Possibly Hail, Could Put A Damper On SXSW In Austin
Showers were expected late Monday afternoon, but stronger storms — some with hail and strong winds — could arrive by Tuesday.
AUSTIN, TEXAS — After a delightful weekend with weather seemingly custom-ordered by the chamber of commerce, storm fronts are developing west of Texas that should bring showers and possible thunderstorms by late Tuesday and into Wednesday.
So those attending SXSW and others might definitely think about toting around and umbrella. Things could get worse, with some of the stronger systems bringing hail and strong winds. Umbrellas won't help much in the latter scenarios, so you might want to find shelter or stick to indoor SXSW events.
For the upcoming second weekend of SXSW, much cooler temperatures are expected. Hopefully, you out-of-towners packed a sweater, light jacket or windbreaker as you might need to use such garments. Scattered showers are predicted for Monday afternoon ahead of the heavier rain expected the following day.
