RM 620 Traffic To Be Blocked Near Mansfield Dam
Lower Colorado River Authority officials plan to stop cars intermittently from 9 a.m. to noon on Monday, June 10, to accommodate work crews.
AUSTIN, TX — Traffic along RM 620 near Mansfield Dam will be intermittently stopped Monday morning to accommodate work on a transmission line upgrade.
Lower Colorado River Authority officials said the traffic stoppage will occur between 9 a.m. and noon on Monday, June 10 as crews work on the transmission line. Consequently, traffic on the bridge will be stopped in both directions for no more than 15 minutes at a time during the three-hour work period, officials said.
As part of the work crews' efforts, multiple pieces of equipment — including a helicopter — will be used to remove old fiber from the transmission line, LCRA officials wrote on their website. "Removal of the fiber is one of the final steps in the project to upgrade and storm harden the transmission line between LCRA's Marshall Ford Substation and Austin Energy's Lakeway Tap," officials explained.
