Scholz Biergarten To Stage 4th Of July Picnic
Backyard BBQ on Thursday, July 4, is free and open to the public, and will feature music by DJ Giant Hornets from Japan spinning from 2-6.

AUSTIN, TX — A 4th of July celebration wouldn't be complete without a good, old-fashioned picnic ahead of fireworks viewing. Leave it to Scholz Garten — the oldest, continually running biergarten in America located right here in Austin — to have that part of the partying covered.
The eatery's Backyard BBQ scheduled on Thursday, July 4, is free and open to the public, and will feature music by DJ Giant Hornets from Japan spinning from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Scholz will have hot dogs, barbecue, burgers, beer specials, a snow cone machine, Biergarten games and will be offering free popsicles.
Known as the longest running biergarten in America and oldest restaurant, bar and music venue in Texas, Scholz has been established as an Austin-favorite for UT fans, music lovers, and families to enjoy traditional German food and beers from local breweries and more. Scholz Garten is located at 1607 San Jacinto Blvd., Austin, TX 78701, and it is open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 8 p.m.
