Sheryl Cole Handily Wins House District 46 Contest

House District 46 is a solidly blue region that encompasses portions of East Austin, North Austin, Pflugerville and Manor.

AUSTIN, TEXAS — Former Austin City Council member Sheryl Cole won the race to represent Texas House District 46 on Tuesday, according to reports.

The seat formerly was held by for more than 20 years by outgoing Rep. Dawnna Dukes. According to the Associated Press, Cole pretty much had victory in the bag early on, winning more than 80 percent of the vote against her Republican challenger Gabriel Nila and Libertarian Kevin Ludlow.
