Sign Up To Win Free Double-Decker Party Bus Tour For ACL Fest Courtesy Of Schlotzky's
Sign up for Patch newsletter to gain entry onto party bus filled with free vodka, Coke products, sandwiches with DJ and comedians on board.

AUSTIN, TX — If you're going to the ACL Music Festival this weekend — or just hanging out during the next two music-filled weekends near the massive Zilker Park concert venue — you could win a fun downtown excursion on a double-decker bus filled with food, drinks, DJ music and comedic entertainment courtesy of Schlotzsky's.
By sheer coincidence, Schlotzky's — which was launched in Austin with a single store along South Congress in 1971 — is celebrating its birthday amid the ACL festivities. To help celebrate both events, they're offering free 30-minute rides along downtown streets on their party bus for Patch readers and others.
The first 60 people signing up for a Patch newsletter will gain admission onto the party bus for either Saturday or Sunday. Thirty people will get in on Saturday, and 30 more on Sunday, so the winners should specify their preference. Once picked up at a predetermined location (details below), revelers will be dropped off at the Schlotzky's restaurant on Lamar Boulevard, within walking distance of the ACL Music Festival, after a fun-filled 30-minute ride.

Participants must be at least 18. The bus will be stocked with Tito's vodka (another Austin creation) for those over 21 and Coke products for the younger set. Those on the bus also will enjoy Schlotzky's sandwiches, cookies and other treats. T-shirts will be handed out. DJs will be on hand, and comedians on board also will entertain the bus-driven masses.

The City of Austin is getting into the celebration, with an upcoming proclamation making Friday Schlotzky's Day.
Passenger pickups will take place this coming Saturday and Sunday at 1 p.m. CST. The first pickup on Saturday, Oct. 7, will be at The Austonian residential high-rise located at 200 Congress Ave. The second pickup on Sunday, Oct. 8, will take place in front of the South Congress Hotel, 1603 S Congress Ave. Both pickup times will take place at 1 p.m. local time.
Half an hour later, the bus will then drop off passengers at the Schlotzky's on Lamar, where restaurant officials will be trying to break the Guinness World Record for the greatest number of participants on a paint-by-numbers mural.
The buses will be running all weekend from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. as part of the promotion, but we've got you covered for guaranteed entry just for signing up to Patch! Be sure to let us know which day your prefer to be picked up.
