AUSTIN, TX — Soon, there will be soup for you — and juice too — in the city's downtown sector. Austin-born quick-service restaurant The Soup Peddler Real Food & Juice Bar will be opening its 6th location in the 2nd Street District this weekend, officials announced.
The community-focused company offers the best in super-food smoothies, famous handmade soups, eclectic juices, grab-and-go salads, and artisan grilled cheese sandwiches, and caters to vegans, vegetarians, and omnivores, officials said in a press advisory. Unique to its downtown location, officials added, patrons can also enjoy a museum installation of memorabilia from the legendary history of the Soup Peddler.
Company founders' “Soup is Love” mission is woven into the company’s culinary approach every single day, including their 24-hour bone broths, chef-prepared dressings and sauces, and local handmade breads, according to an advisory. As a part of the “Soup is Love” mission, Soup Peddler is giving gift cards to those who share their stories of community, wellness, and gratitude that surround the making and sharing of good food, so patrons can continue to spread love. At its core, Soup Peddler warms the bellies and hearts of patrons all over Austin, encouraging them to eat good, real food, officials said.

ABOUT SOUP PEDDLER

Before Austin became the hustle & bustle city it is today, David Ansel established The Soup Peddler out of a humble home tucked away in the funky Bouldin Creek neighborhood where he would craft unique concoctions of handmade soup from scratch. Riding around South Austin, David would deliver these soups himself to friends and neighbors on his bike, "Old Yellow". Interest for David's soups quickly grew with rapid expansion, and thus, The Soup Peddler was born.
Although the business ran for years as strictly a delivery service (winning multiple awards for its efficiency), The Soup Peddler eventually built a brick & mortar in 2010 to allow their customers, cleverly deemed "soupies", to come to them for their soup needs. Their menu has grown to encompass healthy smoothies & juices as well. Now with six locations and more to come, The Soup Peddler has truly become an Austin staple in a city that takes good food very seriously.
