- Today is St. Patrick's Day and to celebrate the Irish holiday, there are several fun festivities in the Austin area that are sure to provide you with lots of "shamrock fun," but don't forget to wear your green party attire! - The 2022 James Bear Awards finalists were announced on Wednesday, March 16, with two Austin chefs making "the shortlist in their categories." Iliana de la Vega, chef and co-owner of El Naranjo Oaxacan and Mexican restaurant, was a finalist in the Best Chef, Texas category and "this her second finalist nomination." Edgar Rico of Nixta Taqueria was a finalist in the Emerging Chef category, and this was his first-ever nomination.
