Sunday in Austin: Near Freezing, Drizzly, Foggy (Sorry)
High temp will barely reach 43 degrees with a low just above the freezing mark in a week that will see a 32-degree shift on Thursday.

AUSTIN, TX — Unless you're a fan of cold weather, drizzle, patchy fog and overcast skies, you're not going to like the forecast for Sunday. For you lovers of sunshiny days seemingly custom-ordered by the chamber of commerce, it won't be a Sunday fun day.
The high temperature in Austin will top at 43 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. North winds will reach around 15 miles per hour, with gusts as high as 20 miles per hour. And that's just during the day. Sunday night calls for partly cloudy skies and a chance of drizzle before 7 p.m. The low temperature will dip to 33 degrees — just one degree shy of freezing — with wind velocity between 10 miles per hour to 15 miles per hour.
So if you have board games, you might want to dust them off to entertain the family. And there's always Netflix or Redbox. You could also catch the televised Winter Olympics on TV, with the cold weather Sunday night yielding a precarious sense of camaraderie with the athletes competing in PyeongChang, South Korea.

Come Monday, it won't be as cold with a high near 56 degrees dipping to 44 degrees by nighttime. Tuesday won't be much warmer: A high of 59 degrees and a low of 53 degrees. Tuesday also brings with it a 20 percent chance of showers after 7 p.m. under cloudy conditions and negligible wind.
A warming trend follows on Wednesday, along with increased likelihood of precipitation. Rain chances increase by Wednesday, with a 30 percent chance of showers mainly by 7 a.m. The high: 70 degrees. It'll be mostly cloudy that day, with a low at around 60 degrees.

By Thursday, lovers of the sun's warmth might mutter "Now we're talkin' " given that it will be partly sunny with a high near 75 degrees. Thursday night calls for mostly cloudy skies with a low around 58 degrees. Think of this: The difference in high temperature from Sunday will be about 32 degrees of separation — from Sunday's 43 degrees to Thursday's 75. Texas weather, I tell ya.
Friday will be groovy, with a nearly negligible 20 percent chance of showers. It'll be partly sunny then, with a high near 71 degrees. The low that night will be around 50 degrees amid mostly cloudy conditions and a 30 percent chance of showers.
But do try to have fun on Sunday nonetheless. If out driving, slow down in case of drizzle as that tends to make the roads slick. If your outdoor plans are dampened, just remember that the sun will come out tomorrow so don't let that sun see you crying.
