Super Bowl LII Guide For Austin: Food Deals, Watch Parties

AUSTIN, TEXAS — Super Bowl LII between the New England Patriots and Los Angeles Rams is scheduled to be broadcast on Feb. 3, which means it's time to plan for food and parties.

Again, Patch has you covered. We've assembled some of the best food deals in town in anticipation of the big game, along with some of the best watch parties. This list will be updated as we find out about more offerings, but here's what we've got so far:

backYARD at Waller Creek

Enjoy pre-game camaraderie and watch the Big Game at backYARD, complete with a livestream projection, special football-worthy bites, and drink specials including $4 select draft beers, $20 craft beer can buckets, and $16 domestic beer buckets. BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse

This entry is for the day after the Super Bowl, but merits inclusion on this list for reasons that will be made clear momentarily. The restaurant chain is teaming up with food deliver service DoorDash in coming to the aid of those calling in "sick" on "Super Sick Monday" after the big game, if you catch our drift. Yes, some football fans will overdo it on celebrations (please don't drive), an will pay for their over-indulgence. To help alleviate such woes, delivery fees will be waived, with a free Pizookie® deal thrown in, for good measure.

An estimated 14 million people are expected to call in "sick" to work the day after the big game, officials noted, an untold number of those in Austin. To mitigate the post-Super Bowl hangover (let's just call a spade a spade here), BJ’s is offering a $0 delivery fee and a free Chocolate Chunk Pizookie (with code: PIZOOKIE) on orders of $19.95 or more. The offer is only available through DoorDash or BJ’s website from Monday, Feb. 4 through Monday, February 11. It's a clever marketing campaign intertwined with a dash (no pun intended) of altruism: "When we heard that 14 million people call in sick the day after the big game, we knew we had to do something to help! By partnering with DoorDash offering free delivery and our iconic free Chocolate Chunk Pizookie we are hoping to resolve those post game blues," said Kevin Mayer, EVP, Chief Marketing Officer of BJ's Restaurants, Inc.

The local BJ's is located at The Shops at Arbor Walk, 10515 MoPac Expressway. The chain offers a wide array of stick-to-your-ribs fare — deep dish pizzas, bone-in and boneless wings and slow-roasted favorites such as prime rib. BJ’s menu also features new selections on its EnLIGHTened Entrees® menu, such as guilt-free Lemon Herb Chicken & Asparagus Zucchini Noodles and Blackened Chicken Zucchini Noodles. El Pollo Loco has got you covered for Super Bowl. For one day only, the restaurant is offering FREE Fire-Grilled Chicken Nachos with any family meal purchase on Sunday, Feb. 3. The newly launched Fire-Grilled Chicken Nachos are the perfect addition to any game day spread, officials noted. Fresa's Chicken al Carbon

Like they do every year for Super Bowl, Fresa's will once again offer several special Super Bowl snacks for one-day-only on Sunday, Feb. 3.

Snacks include returning favorites like the Wood-Grilled Wings, Jalapeño Poppers, Siete Layer Dip and the Super Party Platter, which features the full array of game-day specials, as well as brand new offerings including the Poblano Spinach Dip and Chicken Pastor Skewers. Advance orders for Fresa's Super Bowl Snacks are being accepted now with pick-up the day of the game at either Fresa's location.

Fresa's will be hosting its second annual Super Bowl watch party at the South 1st location with several televisions for the interior dining room. The centerpiece will be a 115” LED Hi-def video wall outdoors on the patio. Fun and casual food can be had at this venue within the AT&T Hotel and Conference Center from 5:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. Also offered will be plentiful beverage options and one of Austin’s best happy hours. Gabriel’s Café will serve up discounted eats and drinks during the big game. Sunday is Super Bowl, but the next day is Super Jack'd Monday. Knowing that some 14 million people will call in "sick" to work the day after the big game, Jack in the Box has partnered with DoorDash in offering the Super Jack’d Monday Box, which will only be available on Monday, Feb. 4 while supplies last. Items include a mixture of all your fav Jack items in one box, all for $6:

• 2 Tacos, 10 Chicken Nuggets, 1 Egg Roll, and Seasoned Curly Fries and a Small Drink
• Pre-orders of the Super Jack’d Monday Box, exclusively via DoorDash, will begin today Thursday, January 31st.
