North Austin SWAT Standoff Ends Peacefully
A barricaded person at Metric Boulevard triggered the police activity early Tuesday along Metric Boulevard before being taken into custody.

AUSTIN, TX — A police SWAT team was dispatched to a business in North Austin on Tuesday, prompting closures of area streets.
The police activity at 12435 Metric Boulevard was sparked by a barricaded person just before 5 a.m. that stretched into the morning at a car wash. A perimeter was set up by police, and the artery was closed to traffic from Parmer Lane to Lamplight Village.
By around 10:20 a.m., police said in an emailed message they had taken a person into custody some five hours after the standoff first began.

No further details were disclosed, but police indicated they would provide more information during a press conference later in the day. As police seek to coax out the individual, officials urge residents to avoid the area until the situation is resolved.
