SXSW Film 'Song Of Granite' Yields Opportunity To Celebrate St. Patrick's Day, Irish Heritage
Film revolved around the life of Irish singer Joe Heaney, whose intense devotion to his art came at a profound cost.

AUSTIN, TX — A final screening of the SXSW-featured film "Song of Granite" offers an opportunity to commemorate St. Patrick's Day.
The film focuses on the life of traditional Irish singer Joe Heaney, a contemporary of fellow musician and compatriot Liam Clancy. The harsh landscape of his upbringing coupled with the myths, fables and songs of his Connemara childhood shaped the artist's complex character. But Heaney's intense devotion to his art came with a profound personal cost.
The final screening of this fill takes place on Saturday, March 18, at 12:15 p.m. at the Alamo Lamar theater.
