SXSW Seeks Volunteers Ahead Of Massive Austin Festival (Video)

AUSTIN, TX — With a little more than two weeks to go before SXSW comes to town, organizers are still seeking volunteers to help stage the massive event.

Officials for the 2018 SXSW Conference and Festival will conduct a third and final volunteer call ahead of the event. Those wishing to volunteer can do so online at http://volunteer.sxsw.com/register or show up at an event this Saturday, Feb. 24, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the third floor of the AT&T Conference Center.

"It’s not too late to sign up to volunteer for South by Southwest® (SXSW®) Conference and Festivals (March 9-18, 2018) and SXSW EDU," festival organizers wrote in a press advisory. Tami Richter, director of event staffing & resources, expounded: “Volunteers are a huge part of what makes SXSW run smoothly. They generously offer their time while getting a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to put on our event.”

In addition to the fulfilling work of helping stage an important event, SXSW volunteerism yields social benefits as well, Richter added: “There’s a real sense of community with our volunteers, many make great friendships and return year after year," she said.

SXSW offers a multitude of volunteer opportunities including: sessions, registration, information, trade show, technical support, and many more. Volunteers must be able to contribute a minimum of 24 hours during the event to earn SXSW badges. Both day and night positions are available.
