AUSTIN, TX — The Austin Police Department on Tuesday evening said distruption in some cell phone usage has inhibited 9-1-1 calls from reaching them.

A network issue has resulted in disruptions to the 9-1-1 service. Members of the public can dial 3-1-1 in the interim to have emergency calls transferred, police said.

The Austin Police Department said they would provide updates to their social media pages until the issue is resolved.
