Texas Officials Schedule Talk On Ending Homelessness

Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs to raise awareness to motor vehicle registrants ability to donate to the cause.

AUSTIN, TX -- Join the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs ("TDHCA") for its Ending Homelessness Fund Roundtable discussion taking place Tuesday, Jan. 30 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The 85th Texas Legislature passed House Bill 4102, which allows registrants of a motor vehicle in Texas to donate to the newly established EH Fund. The donations must be used to provide grants to counties and municipalities to combat homelessness. House Bill 4102 also requires TDHCA to adopt rules governing the EH Fund. More information about the EH Fund can be found online at http://www.tdhca.state.tx.us/home-division/ending-homelessness-fund.htm.

Individuals who require auxiliary aids, services or sign language interpreters for this roundtable should contact Naomi Cantu at 512-475-3975 or Relay Texas at 800-735-2989, at least three (3) days before the roundtable so that appropriate arrangements can be made.
