Texas (3-4) vs No. 8 Baylor (6-0). Football

Kickoff time, TV, point spread, tickets, parking, traffic and more.

AUSTIN, TX -- A disastrous Texas season took another poor turn Saturday when the Longhorns fell to Kansas State 24-21. Now, Texas returns home to face unbeaten Baylor. Coach Charlie Strong’s job is in peril regardless of what happens the rest of the year, but he may be able to salvage his position if Texas wins out. Which is a tall order. The Baylor game alone will be difficult.

Baylor’s offseason was about as disastrous as it gets as coach Art Briles was fired amid a sexual assault scandal that involved several football players. Most figured the Bears would suffer a setback on the field, but coach Jim Grobe has kept Baylor steady and averaging 43.6 points per game. The one concern about the Bears is their schedule has been weak, having only beaten one quality team in Oklahoma State.

Texas isn’t a quality team either, considering the Longhorns are under .500 and have lost four of their last five games. Against Kansas State, Texas fell behind 24-7 before scoring two second-half touchdowns to narrow the final score. Quarterback Shane Buechele had an efficient game in the loss as he completed 17 of 24 passes for 222 yards and 2 touchdowns with no interceptions.
