Texas Music Legend Delbert McClinton To Be Honored

Paramount Theater, Nobelity Project schedule weekend-long celebration of the Texas blues and rock legend Feb. 8-10.

AUSTIN, TEXAS — Texas music legend Delbert McClinton will be honored this weekend.

The Paramount Theater and the Nobelity Project will stage the "Austin Honors Delbert Weekend" to pay homage to the Texas blues and rock legend from Feb. 8-10. The event will take place at the Paramount and the Feed the Peace Awards at the Four Seasons, 98 San Jacinto Blvd., in Austin.

A three-time Grammy Award winner, McClinton is a lifelong Texan. On Friday, Feb. 8, fans are invited as the Paramount unveils a Marquee Star for the artist on Congress Avenue fronting the theater at 1 p.m. The award marks only the the third time a star has been been given to a musician and the fifth star overall, with previous honorees Lyle Lovett, Jerry Jeff Walker, Jaston Williams and Joe Sears.

No stranger to sold-out crowds at the Paramount, McClinton will then perform on stage at the theater the following night on Saturday, Feb. 9 with his band, the Self-Made Men.

On Sunday, Feb. 10, The Nobelity Project will stage its Feed the Peace Awards, one of Austin’s great annual highlights, at The Four Seasons. Funding much of The Nobelity Project’s work for Education for All in Kenya, Latin America and in Austin, over the years the event has honored Dan Rather, Jerry Jeff Walker, Kris Kristofferson and many more with its Feed the Peace Awards (named for its original recipient, Willie Nelson).

And this year, the Feed the Peace Award will be awarded to McClinton, who who has been a dedicated supporter of many great charitable causes throughout Texas. Following the award ceremony, the evening will conclude with a show-stopping performance by Delbert and the Self-Made Men, along with special guests.
