Texas Schools Get Letter Grades From A+ To F

AUSTIN, TX — The nonprofit Children at Risk has compiled its annual academic rankings as a guide for parents, educations and the public in yielding a snapshot on how schools are performing.

In so doing, the group assigned letters grades to each Texas school from A+ to F. The nonprofit describes its mission in assessing schools' academic performance as one rooted on driving "...change for children through research, education and influencing public policy," according to its website.

The rankings can be searched individually by name or by top performers. They also can be viewed according to various regions: Greater North Texas area; Greater Austin area; Greater San Antonio area; and the Rio Grande Valley.

Statewide, the top 20 elementary schools earning a grade of A+ are:
