Thousands Without Power In Austin Area Amid Storms
As the region was hit with heavy rains for the second consecutive day, power was knocked out to multitudes of people throughout the region.
AUSTIN, TX — Thousands of Austin residents were without power on Wednesday as the region was battered with heavy rains for the second consecutive day.
At around 1:30 p.m., some 3,000 Austin Energy customers remained without electricity. At the peak of the storms, some 9,000 utility customers were without power, according to the company's outage map.
Oncor Energy customers also were without power even after the full force of the storms began to weaken. According to the utility's power outage map, some 6,630 Austin-area utility users remained without power.
