AUSTIN, TX — Couples are getting all lovey-dovey as Valentine's Day fast approaches. But not everyone is suffused with amorous feelings, hence an upcoming "Salty Singles" event at Torchy's Tacos where those stung by love can bring their ex's clothes for a good old fashioned burning.

The event is scheduled two days ahead of the day devoted to love, on Feb. 12 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Mueller location, 1801 E. 51st St., Bldg. D. Attendees are encouraged to join and celebrate their saltiness by donating their ex’s clothes, which Torchy’s will take and dispose of — as in set on fire, organizers said. Those donating clothes for torching will receive a limited-edition Taco Love shirt, "...because let’s be honest, tacos won’t break your heart," restaurant officials wrote in a press advisory.

To help mollify the lingering, post-love rancor, Torchy's Tacos will offer drink specials from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., including $1.50 off draft and bottled beer and $2 off fresh-squeezed margaritas and signature sips.
