Travis County Offices Closed Ahead Of Winter Storm
Freezing rain and sleet have emerged as the biggest threats that could make road travel treacherous on Tuesday.

TRAVIS COUNTY, TX — Travis County offices and facilities will be closed on Tuesday, Jan. 16, in light of a winter storm, officials said.
Worry continues to mount about freezing rain and sleet that could make road conditions treacherous, prompting many closures to lessen the number of people on the roads.
"Due to winter weather conditions, Travis County Judge Sarah Eckhardt has announced all Travis County offices and facilities will be closed on Tuesday, January 16, 2018," a press advisory reads. "Essential County staff will continue to report to duty. Staff should contact their supervisor for questions related to their department’s staffing needs. Additionally, based on Government Code 551.0411(b), the Travis County Commissioners Court will not convene Tuesday as previously posted, and will reschedule the court session once additional weather reports become available.
