Two Stabbed In Pflugerville During Attempted Carjacking: Travis County Sheriff's Office

A man in his 30s and an adult woman both are stabbed but injuries aren't life-threatening, sparked after attempted car theft say police.

PFLUGERVILLE, TX -- Medics were called to Pflugerville after two people were stabbed by an unknown assailant Thursday.

Austin-Travis County EMS medics were dispatched to the scene in the northern part of the county near Grand Avenue Parkway and Vision Drive at around 11:40 a.m. There, they found a man in his 3os who required transport to St. David's Round Rock Medical Center for treatment of serious, but not life-threatening, injuries. A second victim, an adult female, declined to be taken to the hospital.

Travis County Sheriff's Office officials told the Austin American-Statesman that the man who was stabbed was allegedly trying to steal a car with a woman inside. The Statesman reports that the woman and her boyfriend pulled up to the 7-11 at Grand Avenue Parkway and Vision Drive around 11:40 a.m.

While the woman's boyfriend was inside the store, the alleged assailant took to the driver's seat and attempted to drive off with the car. The woman still inside the vehicle got into an altercation with the would-be carjacker, and she was stabbed in the process.

Upon exiting the store, the victim's boyfriend chased after the fleeing suspect, who was also hurt with a box cutter during an ensuing confrontation, the sheriff's office told the newspaper.

The name of their suspect has not yet been disclosed, nor was it clear what charges he might face.
