Two Winning $1 Million Powerball Jackpot Tickets Sold In Texas
Tickets matching five of the six winning numbers were picked in Spring and Snyder in a close-but-no-cigar sort of achievement.

AUSTIN, TX — It's not $758.7 million (not even close) but two winning tickets matched five numbers at Wednesday's Powerball jackpot drawing, winning $1 million each.
Two winning tickets matching five of the six Powerball numbers drawn were sold in the towns of Spring and Snyder, according to Austin-based Texas Lottery Commission officials. The former ticket was sold at the Easy Lane Food Mart #1 at 603 Rayford Rd. while the latter was sold at the Yesway store 1071 at 4201 College Ave.
Snyder is located on Deep Creek, a minor tributary of the Colorado River in North Texas, about 90 miles southeast of Lubbock. Spring, meanwhile, is a census-designated place within the extraterritorial jurisdiction of Houston in Harris County.

Another 33 people across Texas matched matched four out of five numbers for a $50,000 payout, with eight using the Power Play option to win $200,000, according to lottery officials.
The winning Powerball ticket, as many by now know, was sold in Massachusetts. Mavis Wanczyk, 53, of Chicopee, Mass., won the big prize—securing the largest single lottery jackpot ever in the U.S. The prize again (it's painful, if you want to look away) is $758.7 million.

The winning numbers drawn Wednesday (if you care to know) were 6-7-16-23-26 and Powerball number 4.
Wanczyk told reporters said she found it hard to drive after learning she won, you know because of all the excitement. She said her co-workers followed her home to make sure she made it okay. And she said she told her boss she wouldn't be showing up for work anymore.
That's great, Mavis. We're all very happy for you. Thanks for sharing.
The Powerball jackpot is now reset to a paltry $40 million, with an estimated $25.3 million cash payout, for the next drawing scheduled Aug. 26. Hardly worth getting in line for, eh?
