TxDot Interstate 35 Lane Closures List For Dec. 8-14

AUSTIN, TEXAS — We say this every week: Know your lane closures. With clockwork precision, the Texas Department of Transportation weekly releases a list of areas along Interstate 35 where lanes will be closed for repair or revamping.

Knowing this ahead of time can help save valuable commute time as attentive drivers plot their routes accordingly by avoiding areas where travel might be slowed. So, here again, is the latest TxDot list of scheduled lane closures along I-35, covering the period between Dec. 8 to Dec. 14.

I-35 AT COUNTY ROAD 305

• I-35 frontage road left lane closed in both directions at County Road 305
  • Through early 2019

I-35 AT FM 3406

• Expect southbound I-35 frontage road closures at FM 3406
  • From 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 9 through Monday, Dec. 10
• I-35 left lane closed in both directions under FM 3406
  • From 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 9 through Monday, Dec. 10

I-35 FROM RUNDBERG LANE TO US 290 EAST

• St. Johns Avenue reduced to one lane in both directions across I-35
  • Beginning 9 p.m. Monday, December 3 until further notice
• Northbound I-35 frontage road closed at St. Johns Avenue. Look for detour signs.
  • From 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Monday, Dec. 10 through Thursday, Dec. 13
• I-35 left two lanes closed in both directions between US 290 East and US 183
  • From 11 p.m. until 5 a.m. Monday, Dec. 10 through Tuesday, Dec. 11
• Southbound I-35 frontage road closed between Huntland Drive and US 290 East. Exit #238A for RM 2222 / US 290 exit will close as needed.
  • From 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12 through Thursday, Dec. 13
• I-35 right two lanes closed in both directions between US 183 and St. Johns Avenue
  • From 11 p.m. until 5 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12 through Thursday, Dec. 13
• Alternating St. Johns Avenue closures in both directions across I-35
  • From 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Monday, Dec.10 through Tuesday, Dec. 11

I-35 AT OLTORF STREET

• Various northbound I-35 frontage road closures between Royal Hill Dr and the Woodland Avenue exit. The Oltorf exit (#232) will also be closed.
  • From 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 6 through Friday, Dec. 7
• Various Oltorf Street closures in both directions at I-35
  • From 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 6 through Friday, Dec. 7
• Southbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed at Oltorf Street
  • From 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. Monday, Dec. 10 through Tuesday, Dec. 11
• Various northbound I-35 frontage road closures between Royal Hill Drive and the Woodland Avenue exit. The Oltorf St exit and entrance ramps will also be closed.
  • From 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. Monday, Dec. 10 through Tuesday, Dec. 11
• Northbound I-35 left lane closed between the Oltorf Street and Woodland Avenue exit ramps
  • From 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Monday, December 10 through Tuesday, Dec. 11
• Look for Oltorf Street closures in both directions at I-35

I-35 FROM STASSNEY LANE TO WILLIAM CANNON DRIVE

• Southbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed between Colonial Park Boulevard and Williamson Creek
  • From 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Monday, Dec. 10 through Wednesday, Dec. 12
• Northbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed between Boggy Creek Drive and William Cannon Drive
  • From 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Monday, Dec. 10 through Friday, Dec. 14
• Southbound I-35 frontage road closed between Stassney Lane and William Cannon Drive
  • From 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Monday, Dec. 10 through Friday, Dec. 14
• William Cannon Drive right turn lane closures in both directions at I-35
  • From 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Monday, Dec. 10 through Friday, Dec. 14

I-35 MAINTENANCE PROJECTS

• I-35 reduced to one lane in alternating directions between Manor Road and Holly Street
  • From 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 9 through Monday, Dec. 10
• I-35 right lane closures in both directions between Manor Road and Holly Street
  • From 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11 through Thursday, Dec. 13
