AUSTIN, TX -- The next generation of great fashion designers could very well emerge from the University of Texas at Austin, and their work will be showcased this week.
Titled "Elements," the University of Texas student fashion show this Thursday will feature designs from 22 senior students in the University Fashion Group. Included will be a special collection of sports after-wear modeled by UT Austin athletic luminaries such as Edith Royal, A.J. Abrams and Quan Cosby, university officials said. Industry notables Carla McDonald, Sergio Guadarrama, Lance Avery Morgan, Linda Asaf and Carmel Fenves will be on hand to hand out a number of prizes.
The event is scheduled April 14 at 7:15 p.m., but is preceded with a pre-exhibition titled "Immersed in Cotton," which begins at 5:30 p.m. It'll be staged at the Frank Erwin Center, 1701 Red River St.
