Here are the top stories in Austin today:
- Since February's recall of baby formula, it has been "nearly impossible" for parents to find it, so the Mothers' Milk Bank at Austin is helping them by providing "milk to healthy babies." Executive Director Kim Updegrove said, "The Mothers' Milk Bank is dependent on healthy lactating mothers who express more milk than their baby needs." She added, "We are able to dispense to them a small amount of milk enough to get them through a couple of days while we help them locate other retailers." - The United States Postal Service (USPS) is currently hiring for delivery positions in Austin for individuals 18 and older. Their local job fair will be held on Friday, May 20 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at Oak Hill Post Office, located at 6104 Old Fredericksburg Rd. USPS representatives will be there to provide applicants with "detailed information about the positions and answer questions" they may have. For more details and requirements regarding the positions, visit: (FOX 7 Austin)
- According to Penske Truck Rental company, "In 2021, Austin ranked ninth among the hottest U.S. moving destinations...down from the No. 4 position in 2020." Despite the lower rank, Austin is still "among the top cities on Penske Truck Rental's annual ranking of the country's most popular moving destinations." To come up with the rankings, Penske analyzes "one-way consumer truck rental reservations made over a 12-month span." Another moving truck provider, U-Haul, "ranked Texas as the No. 1 destination for DIY movers in 2021." For more visit: (CultureMap Austin)
- Summer is coming up, which means in Texas that it's time to start thinking of "water activities to cool off from our brutal heat waves." That won't be too hard to do in Austin, as "there definitely isn't a shortage of Austin boat rentals these days!" Whether it be "a day of partying with friends on a large boat on Lake Travis or a romantic paddleboat picnic on Lady Bird Lake," you can do that and more in town!
