Veterans Art Exhibition - Veterans Sell Their Art For Good Cause

The Austin Visual Arts Association (AVAA) will host an exhibition featuring art created by US Veterans to celebrate Veterans Day 2017.

AUSTIN, TX -- In commemoration of Veterans Day, the Austin Visual Arts Association (AVAA), a 501 (C)3 nonprofit arts organization will host its Veterans Art Exhibition, featuring a collection of art created by US Veterans, opening on Friday, Nov. 10 from 6 PM - 8 PM. Featured art will remain on display and for sale through Dec. 2, 2017.

Composed of working artists and supporters of the arts, AVAA was established in 1977 at the suggestion of the Arts Commission. AVAA (formerly Austin Contemporary Visual Arts Association, ACVAA) was founded by a group of interested artists, museum professionals and gallery owners to “encourage the knowledge, appreciation and practice of contemporary visual art.”

The upcoming art exhibition will also be an opportunity for the public and veterans to give back to the community with 20% of all proceeds from the sale of art going to the Austin Furniture Bank -- a 501 (C)3 nonprofit organization that provides basic furnishings and household necessities to help formerly homeless persons transform their newly-acquired empty dwellings into homes.
