ICYMI: Traffic Snarls Likely With Pence Austin Visit (Updated)
Veep is featured speaker at Republican Governors Association annual conference at J.W. Marriott while wife visits hospital.

AUSTIN, TX — An Austin visit by Vice President Mike Pence to headline the Republican Governors Association annual conference will likely result in traffic congestion along city streets.
Given the visitor's high status, the exact route details of his motorcade are unknown. But given what we know of his itinerary yields some insight into the arteries that will likely be cut off to traffic.
It's likely Interstate 35 will be utilized once the vice president arrives at the Austin Bergstrom-International Airport around noon. His first stop reportedly will be at the Texas Department of Public Safety headquarters on North Lamar and Koenig Lane at 12:40 p.m. There, he'll be joined by Gov. Greg Abbott, U.S. Department of Energy Secretary Rick Perry and Brock Long, the Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA) administrator.

The vice president's wife, Karen Pence, reportedly will drop by at the Ascension Dell Children's Medical Center at Mueller. Her visit there is scheduled to begin at around 12:30 p.m.
I-35 will likely be the path for both Pences travel. Motorists are urged to be extra vigilant and allow for street closures and traffic backups in accommodating the dignitaries' travel.

AUSTIN, TX — Vice President Mike Pence will be the featured speaker at the upcoming Republican Governors Association annual conference to be staged in Austin next week, organizers of the event said Tuesday.
The RGA's annual conference is the yearly gathering of the nation's Republican governors, who will meet to discuss policy priorities, the RGA's electoral success, how Republicans are leading and getting results in the states, and the 36 gubernatorial elections in 2018, organizers said.
Additionally, the election for the 2018 RGA Chairman and Vice Chairman will also occur during the conference, according to organizers.
The conference will feature open press events, such as press briefings and plenary sessions, featuring Republican governors, Republican gubernatorial candidates, and special guests, event organizers said.
The gathering is scheduled Nov. 15-16 at the J.W. Marriott in downtown Austin.
