Watch Austin’s hottest new startups compete for equity-free cash

Early detection of cancer. Anti-trafficking collaborations. High-performance motion in robotics. These are just a few of the innovative technologies that will be presented by the 14 startup finalists honored at MassChallenge Texas’s 2nd Awards Ceremony here in Austin.

MassChallenge, the global network supporting visionary entrepreneurs as they launch and grow their startups, is hosting the event on October 17th at Hilton Austin downtown. The event will feature the accelerator program’s finalist startups, whittled down to just 14 from the original cohort of 74 companies.

Having already undergone a highly competitive process in which some of the world’s most talented startup creators vie for a space in MassChallenge Texas’s coveted accelerator program, the 14 finalists were selected following a round of live, in-person pitches to top executives and leaders from across the Texas. What’s more, the Austin Awards Ceremony will feature cash prizes of up to $500,000 for the top contenders and an Austin startup showcase in which attendees are encouraged to learn more about the featured business models and interact with entrepreneurs and experts alike. Guest speakers are Whurley, cofounder and General Partner at Ecliptic Capital and founder and CEO of Strangeworks, and Sara Brand, Founding General Partner of True Wealth Ventures and cofounder of the beloved (512) Brewing.

Expected to be heavily attended by industry leaders and potential investors, MassChallenge also invites a limited number of guests from the general public. Venue & Parking:

Hilton Austin is offering reduced self-parking rates at $12 per vehicle for the day of the event and reduced valet parking rates at $17 per vehicle for day of event.
