From my notebook:

  • "If you have paper grocery bags to donate, the Chestnut East food pantry at Blackland Neighborhood Center located at 2005 Salina St. will take them. They're open Monday-Thursday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Although you don't need an appointment, they suggest you call ahead to make sure they are open. Their phone numbers are 512-972-5790 and 512-972-5174. Please note that they do not accept food donations, as they get their food supplies from Central Texas Food Bank, but the Nixti Taqueria located at 2512 E. 12th will take food donations." (Nextdoor)
  • A neighbor in the Shadow Brook neighborhood found a dog at Camden Cedar Hills in South Austin, across from Bowie High School. The dog has no identification and is probably not microchipped, as it is too young. The person has reached out to a couple of the surrounding neighborhoods and communities to help identify the dog and will provide it with a temporary home until the owner is found. If you have any information on who the animal belongs to, please call or message 512-282-5656." (Nextdoor)
  • "A Preswyck Hills neighbor is looking for a 2 bed, 2 bath, 1,000 square foot place to rent. She has a rental history of over 17 years with no evictions and has never been late with her rent. She is 59 years old and has no children or pets. Please contact her at darcusxoxo@yahoo.com." (Nextdoor)
