In the days ahead of that chronological milestone, Patch will continually update some of the best places to celebrate the arrival of 2019.

Head to the heart of downtown for a meal worthy of such a momentous evening. Say ¡feliz año nuevo! at the Live Oak at Four Seasons Hotel Austin for the 2nd annual Latin Masquerade Party featuring Latin jazz band "The Brew." Admission gets you both into The Rose Room and 77 Degrees - guests can expect two live DJs and bottle service pricing deals depending on group size. St. Genevieve

Organizers are categorizing this event as a "New Year's Eve Sippin' 20s Party." On Monday, Dec. 31 from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m., St. Genevieve invites you to ring in the new year, as they take you back to the 1920's for an evening of opulence, revelry, and music. Guests are encouraged to dress to impress in their best attire that invoking The Great Gatsby. The party will feature a menu with classic prohibition cocktails of the time and entertainment provided by a live DJ. $20 cover at the door. 21 + only. F. On Tuesday, Jan. 1 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., celebrate the first day of the new year with a $16 brunch buffet at The Park which will include all the favorites such as biscuits and gravy, applewood smoked bacon, migas, sausage, french toast, pancakes, and more. The New Year's Day brunch will also feature $2 mimosas with five flavors to choose from - classic orange, strawberry citrus, prickly pear, mango ginger and pineapple basil - as well as $5 build-your-own Grey Goose Bloody Mary Bar.

Oenophiles will be pleased to learn that William Chris Vineyards will be hosting their Annual New Year's Day party featuring a distinctly southern Black-Eyed Pea Cook-off at the vineyard in Hye, Texas, on Tuesday, Jan. Festivities start at 1 p.m. and the ticket price for general admission is $25, which includes a new year's toast for adults, plenty of black-eyed peas and live music. Children over 12 will require a ticket. The event will also feature an eating competition, and those who want to participate will be able to sign up the day of. So you want to enter the cook-off? $50 per entry, includes an official black-eyed pea cook-off Apron. Entrants must prepare a dish at home based on Black-Eyed Peas and must have it ready by set-up time at 12:00 p.m. on January 1st. Those participating in the contest need to make sure there is enough for 100 samples. In addition to a bottle of William Chris Vineyards wine, the grand prize winner will receive $500; 2nd place will receive $200; and 3rd place will receive $50.

Hye is a town located about an hour and half drive from Austin, just under 60 miles traveling west.
