AUSTIN, TEXAS — Organizers of the upcoming POP Cats — the cat-themed festival coming to Austin next month — revealed lineup details and programming events for its feline-focused event. Here's the pawsome part: Patch will give away a pair of tickets to two lucky winners.

The celebration of cats is scheduled May 4-5 at the Palmer Events Center, 900 Barton Springs Rd., in South Austin. Now in its third year, the popular event among cat lovers is set to feature more interactive programming than ever, including new family-friendly activities, more adoptable kitties an more "edutainment" featuring the cat community's most high-purrfile and expurrts.

It's a festival of fabulous felines and their humans, and now you can win a pair of tickets. All you need to do is sign up to receive Patch newsletters in your mailbox each morning to keep you apprised of news happening in your community. Patch will randomly selected two winners from the entries in awarding each a pair of tickets to attend POP Cats.

The outlined events from organizers barely scratch the surface (Get it? Scratch? Is this thing on?). POP Cats 2019 also aims to create its greatest impact to date by supporting 10 Central Texas non-profit animal organizations. Winner will be notified via email on Tuesday, April 30th and must respond within 24 hours to remain eligible.

POP Cats supports ten Texas non-profit cat organizations through a comprehensive series of initiatives, from donating partial ticket and booth proceeds to providing a platform for cat adoptions, volunteer recruitment, volunteer appreciation, and education. Participating non-profit organizations include, Austin Animal Center, Austin Humane Society, Austin Pets Alive, Street Cat Rescue, Bastrop Animal Rescue, Emancipet, Texas Humane Heroes, Shadow Cats, Williamson County Regional Shelter, San Antonio Humane Society.

POP Cats returns this year with headliner Kitten Lady (Hannah Shaw), the popular kitten rescuer and humane educator and its first-ever host, celebrated cat advocate TrapKing (Sterling Davis). The two-day event boasts an action-packed schedule of fun for cat lovers and the cat curious of every age.

  • Kitten Lady (Hannah Shaw) / Presentations and Meet and Greet / Kitten Lady is a popular kitten rescuer, humane educator, author, and unwavering animal advocate who has dedicated her life to finding innovative ways to protect and support orphaned kittens. Her educational videos teach vital kitten care from baby-bottle feeding to socializing. (*The Kitten Lady meet & greet is not included with general admission tickets.)
  • TrapKing (Sterling Davis) / Presentations and Hosting / TrapKing is a celebrated cat advocate who has earned a fervent following online due to his unwavering work supporting the homeless cat population and providing feline education in communities across the United States.
  • Kittie Playgrounds and Onsite Adoptions / Interactive cat playgrounds for kids and adults, plus onsite adoptions provided by participating cat organizations.
  • Cattoos by BettyRose / Onsite tattoo booth by acclaimed Austin tattoo artist, Betty Rose. Walk-in appointments will be accepted Saturday and Sunday.

  • Cat Photography 101 with Erica Danger / LA-based cat photographer and artist Erica Danger will teach cat lovers how to capture the purrfect pic of their beloved felines.
  • Cat Art Workshops with The Art Garage / Variety of kitty-themed art activities Saturday and Sunday. (*The Art Garage workshops are not included with general admission tickets.)
  • Educational and Advocacy Presentations / Topics include “Keeping Your Indoor Cat Happy,” “Stay Pawsitive, Don’t Declaw” and more.
  • More Than 80 Exhibitors / Featuring a full cat-alog of feline-themed art, innovative cat products, and awesome kitty kitsch.
