AUSTIN, TX — Because nobody matched the winning numbers at the last Powerball jackpot Saturday, the prize has now grown to $66 million, or a cash option of $41.8 million, for Wednesday, Sept. 27.

I think we can both agree that this is a pretty good chunk of change.

The winning numbers drawn on Sept. 23 were: 24-45-55-56-57 and red ball 19. While nobody drew those numbers, you might want to check that ticket before crumbling it up and throwing it in the wastebasket or tearing it up in little pieces in the throes of rage. Why? Because there are smaller prizes awarded for matching some, if not all, of the numbers.

The winning numbers each drawing day (Wednesdays, Saturdays) are typically available shortly after 10 p.m., appearing on your local television newscast. But if you come back to this story after that hour, we'll have updated it with the winning numbers.
