The current jackpot is now estimated to be $53 million—a far cry from that lady's winnings but still nothing to be dismissive about.

  • The record drawing in this diversion we call Powerball was the $1.6 billion one in January 2016, ultimately shared by three winners in Florida, Tennessee and California.
  • The second-biggest was the aforementioned Aug. 23 win of $758 million.
  • Before that, one lucky person in Indiana won $435 million on Feb. 22, the 10th largest prize in the game's history.
  • The largest three Powerball jackpots ever are: $1.6 billion in January 2016; $758 million in August 2017; and $590.5 million in February 2013.
