5 Displaced In East Austin Fire Blamed On Unattended Cooking
Austin Fire Department crews were called to 904 Bedford St. to fight conflagration that erupted at around 6 p.m. on Saturday.

EAST AUSTIN, TEXAS — A fire in East Austin Saturday evening displaced five residents, officials said.
The blaze that broke out at 904 Bedford St. around 6 p.m. was blamed on unattended cooking, Austin fire officials said via Twitter. No injuries were reported, and the Austin Fire Department said housing authority officials were assisting residents left without a home in finding temporary lodging.
Damage was estimated at $5,000 to the structure and another $5,000 in the building's contents.
