Paint Thinner Fumes At Manor School Send 19 To Hospital
Medics responded to the school at 8500 Decker Lane around 11:40 a.m. after more than a dozen students, teachers overcome by fumes.

AUSTIN, TEXAS — A strong odor of chemical sealant used on flooring resulted in medical treatment for 19 students and teachers at an elementary school at Manor just before noon on Monday, Austin medics said.
Medics responded to a "multi-patient incident" with 19 patents at Decker Elementary School in Manor at around 11:40 am., according to Austin-Travis County EMS via Twitter. Fire officials attributed the hospitalizations to the sealant that overtook the victims and prompted an evacuation of around 400 students and teachers.
At least 14 of those who inhaled the fumes were transported to an area hospital, medics said, with 19 victims total. The injuries were not deemed to be life-threatening, according to Austin-Travis County EMS medics, who responded to the school at 8500 Decker Lane in Manor at around 11:40 a.m., added.
