Austin Officer Injured After Being Struck By Vehicle
Motorist who struck police officer is said to have fled the scene after the collision along the 3900 block of South FM 973 Saturday night.
EAST AUSTIN, TX — An Austin Police Department officer was struck by a vehicle Saturday night by a motorist who fled the scene and is now being sought.
The collision occurred just after 10 p.m. along the 3900 block of South FM 973 in Del Valle, according to police. The officer who was working a crash scene sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was being treated for injuries Saturday.
Police provided no further details, including the identify of the officer involved; the circumstances that led to the collision; or a description of the vehicle that struck the officer.
