Austin Parks Officials Schedule Arbor Day Celebration With Free Community Event
Trees will be planted and attendees can go on tree identification tours, learn wildflower seed ball making with live music and refreshments.
EAST AUSTIN, TX -- The Austin Parks and Recreation Department is celebrating Arbor Day and the City of Austin's 25th year as a Tree City USA community later this month.
In honor of Arbor Day, the department and more than 100 volunteers are scheduled to plant from 80 to 100 native trees. Additionally, fun activities for the family will be scheduled, including tree identification tours, wildflower seed ball making with live music and refreshments.
The event will take place at Walnut Creek Hike & Bike Trail, 7800 Johnny Morris Rd., on Oct. 22 from 9 am. to noon. Here's the best part: It's all free!
