Austin Police, County Sheriff's Office Plan 'Building Bridges' Town Hall Meeting Saturday
Public invited to hear about police efforts at community policing while offering a chance to meet Austin's new police chief Brian Manley.

AUSTIN, TX — Law enforcement representatives have scheduled a town hall meeting is scheduled this weekend intended to detail community policing efforts.
The public is invited to attend the free event dubbed "Building Bridges," to be staged at the Millennium Youth Entertainment Complex at 1156 Hargrave St. The Feb. 4 town hall meeting is scheduled from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Featured at the presentation will be representatives from the Austin Police Department and Travis County Sheriff's Office. The presentation also will yield an opportunity for members of the public to meet and greet the city's new police chief, Brian Manley, who took over the reins after Art Acevedo recently accepted the sheriff's job in Houston.

A question-and-answer session will follow the formal presentation, affording members of the public to address officials directly. The event will be hosted by APD Assistant Chief Frank Dixon, Commander Richard Guajuardo, Lieutenant Francisco Rodriguez, Sergeant Richard Ellsworth and the Region 3 District Representatives.
