Austin Police Deliver AC Units To Needy Homes Amid Summer Heat
Members of Austin Cops for Charities and Austin Police Association helping keep residents cool as Central Texas sizzles.

AUSTIN, TX — Local police on Wednesday were making the rounds throughout the community, providing donated air conditioning units to needy homes amid the sweltering Central Texas heat.
Members of the Austin Cops for Charities (Austin c4c) and the Austin Police Association (APA) are helping keep the community a little cooler this summer with the donated air conditioning units, the donations made possible through funding collected by Austin Cops for Charities, officials said in a press advisory.
Officer Albino “Bino” Cadenas collected the AC units at the Austin Police Association building located at 5817 Wilcab Road at 11:15 a.m. Wednesday morning, officials said. From there, officers delivered the items to the following locations in making their deliveries:

- Home of Mrs. Blanca Lagunas located along the 6200 block of Dooley Trail at noon.
- Home of Mrs. Mary Martinez located at the 2400 block of Santa Rosa Street at 12:45 p.m. (Spanish and English speaker)
- Home of Mrs. Maria Elena Tierrablanca at an apartment along the 6600 block of Elm Creek Drive 2 p.m. (Spanish speaker)
- Home of Mr. Ray Jackson at the 2700 block of East 12th at 3 p.m.
Officials said the Austin Cops for Charities is living its motto of “giving back to the community we serve” with the deliveries, and will work in partnership with the APA to continue donating additional air conditioning units to those residents in need.
