Austin Police ID Woman Who Died In Thanksgiving Day Wreck
Miranda Ashley Stark, 27, was traveling at a high rate of speed before leaving, then re-entering road before colliding with another car.

AUSTIN, TX — Police on Monday identified the driver who died on Thanksgiving Day after being ejected from her vehicle after colliding from another car.
According to a police investigation, Miranda Ashley Stark, 27, was traveling in a silver, 2001 Lexus at a high rate of speed on Nov. 23 along the westbound lane of the 4200 block of East Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard when she left the roadway for unknown reasons. The vehicle left the roadway at the north curb line and drove partially on the grassy shoulder for unknown reasons, police said.
The vehicle then returned onto the roadway and crossed both westbound lanes of the street and onto the path of an eastbound Nissan Cube. Stark was ejected from her vehicle upon impact, police said, and died in the hospital as a result of her injuries. Police didn't disclose the nature of the other driver's injuries.

This case is still being investigated, police said. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the APD Vehicular Homicide Unit Detectives at (512) 974-8544. Those with information also can submit tips by downloading APD’s mobile app, Austin PD, for free on iPhone and Android.
This collision marked Austin’s 62nd fatal traffic crash and the 67th fatality of 2017, according to police data. At this time in 2016, there were 67 fatal traffic crashes and 69 traffic fatalities, police said.
