Austin Police Schedule Town Hall On Police And Community Relations
Presentation's aim is to offer residents guidance in handling police interactions safely while knowing their rights.

AUSTIN, TX — Local law enforcement members have scheduled a town hall meeting on police and community relations this coming Saturday, officials said.
The aim of the presentation is to offer residents guidance related to handling police interactions successfully and safely while knowing their rights as a citizen, police said. Law enforcement representatives will be on hand to provide information about their services. The meeting will close with a question and answer session during which residents will be encouraged to address local public safety issues, organizers said.
The agenda will cover a number of issues:

- A guide and discussion about interacting with law enforcement;
- changes to your APD Region 3 law enforcement team;
- plans to transition to Area Command Engagement (ACE) meeting format for future events;
- and an overview of APD budget and staffing for the upcoming year
The Austin Police Department and Travis County Sheriff’s Office will host this town hall for District 3, which encompasses the south central portion of the city as well as East Austin. The town hall will be free and open to the public at the Millennium Youth Entertainment Complex at 1156 Hargrave St. on Saturday, Oct. 7 from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.
