Austin Police Stage 'Super Hero Day' At Dell Children's Hospital

AUSTIN, TX — The Austin Police Department will help host the fourth annual Super Hero Day at Dell Children's Medical Center on Tuesday morning, helping bring smiles to young patients.

The event in partnership with Seton Healthcare Family and Wells Fargo is scheduled at 10 a.m. with a goal of providing a fun-filled day for hospital patients by giving them an opportunity to interact with police officers, some of whom will be in uniform and others dressed as super heroes — Batman, Batgirl, Robin, Captain America, Flash, Hawkeye, Iron Man, Spiderman, Superman, Wolverine and Wonder Woman. Word on the street is super villain The Riddler and Cat Woman will make appearances, joining other bad guys trying to spoil the day’s fun by avenging the Joker — who was arrested after trying to thwart last year’s Super Hero Day.

With young patients looking on, the Super Heroes will rappel down the hospital walls into the courtyard as they provide a real-life drama ripped from the comic book pages. After capturing Cat Woman and The Riddler, the Super Heroes (aka Austin police officers) will sign autographs and interact with children in the auditorium.
