Car Crashes Into East Austin Apartment Bedroom

No word on what may have caused the accident, but now there's a big hole exposing the room to the outside.

EAST AUSTIN, TX -- A car crashed into the side of an East Austin apartment Saturday evening. 

Police responded to the scene at 7:19 p.m at the 2900 block of Sweeney Lane, KXAN-TV reported. Reportedly, the driver of a red SUV rammed through a bedroom wall, leaving a hole big enough to expose the interior of the unit to the outside world.

Fortunately, the apartment was empty at the time of the impact, and no injuries were reported. Ausitn Fire Department officials said the integrity of the structure was sound despite the crash.

Police did not indicate if the driver of the car faces charges as a result of the incident.
