EAST AUSTIN, TX — At a popular Mexican food restaurant along a local street named in his honor, community members will celebrate the birthday and legacy of César Chávez — the late civil rights leader who focused on the plight of farm workers.

The gathering among members of the group HABLA (Hispanic Advocates Business Leaders of Austin) takes place on Wednesday, March 28, from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. at the restaurant Juan In A Million located at 2300 E. Cesar Chavez.

In addition to commemorating the upcoming birthday of the civil rights hero, his legacy will be discussed. Members also will share information about the upcoming 17th Annual César Chávez ¡Sí Se Puede! march and discuss ongoing modern-day quality-of-life challenges for Latinos as well as causes and opportunities resonant with the population.
