East Austin Man Reports Being Sexually Assaulted By Male Suspect

Coltrane R. Randle, 24, was arrested by police and charged with sexual assault with bond set at $10,000, according to a report.

EAST AUSTIN, TX — An East Austin man recently told police he was sexually assaulted by another man he let stay at his home for a few months, according to a news report.

Police were called to the LifeWorks facility in East Austin late February in an incident on which details have emerged by way of an arrest affidavit last Tuesday. Once there, police interviewed a man who had spoken to a counselor previously to report he had been sexually abused, KVUE reported.

The victim said he arrived at his apartment one evening at around 7:30 p.m. to find the suspect on the couch drinking wine, the news station reported. The man, later identified as Coltrane R. Randle, 24, was said to have been intoxicated after four glasses of wine.

The victim decided to go to bed at around 8:30 p.m. only to be later awakened with Randle allegedly placing an arm on his waist while touching the victim's genitals, according to the report. The suspect is said to have ignored the victim's requests to stop, which led to a ten-minute physical struggle that led to the victim injuring his neck, the news station reported.

Eventually, the victim was forced to perform oral sex on the suspect, he alleged. Randle was subsequently charged with sexual assault, a second-degree felony, with a bond set at $10,000.
