Woman Killed In East Austin Shooting (Updated)
Medics rushed to 5300 block of Wellington Drive Sunday evening to find a woman in critical condition with a life-threatening gunshot wound.

EAST AUSTIN, TX — Police are investigating following an East Austin shooting Sunday evening that left a woman dead.
Police and Austin-Travis County EMS medics rushed to the 5300 block of Wellington Drive after reports of a shooting that occurred at around 7:46 p.m. A female victim in her 30s was transported to the Dell Seton Medical Center with a critical, life-threatening gunshot wound, according to medics.
Initial reports by medics stated the victim was in critical condition with a life-threatening wound. By around 7:15 p.m., police reported the woman had died, and the case is now being treated as a homicide.

Police have not released further details, including whether a suspect is in custody. Patch will update as more information is made available.
