A crosswalk could be installed, but there is a long waiting list for such implements. Another option is to install a rapid flash beacon in the area to alert drivers of pedestrian traffic, city officials said.
The accident occurred at about 7 a.m. Tuesday in front of the Marshall Apartments. The child suffered a broken leg, internal bleeding and brain damage, causing her to lapse into a coma, KXAN-TV reports.
