HEB Recalls Single-Serve Soups, Frozen Veggies Amid Listeria Fears
Recalls made at the request of Mann Packing of Salinas, Calif. to prevent Listeria monocytogenes ingestion that could be fatal for some.

AUSTIN, TX — HEB issued a recall of some of its single-serving soups containing vegetable products potentially contaminated with Listeria, officials said.
The recall was made at the request of Mann Packing of Salinas, Calif. The affected products were used in beef- and chicken-flavored HEB Asian Noodle Soup cups. Listeria monocytogenes can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or older adults, and others with weakened immune systems, H-E-B officials said.
The soup cups recall announced Friday is part of a broader recall issued by Mann Packing of several of its "freshcut" vegetable products. Among the vegetable products also stocked by HEB that have been recalled are:

- Broccoli Carrots, 12-ounce bags with a UPC code of 4122097508.
- Broccoli Cauliflower, 12-ounce bags, 4122097503.
- Broccoli Florets, 12-ounce bags, 4122097505.
- Broccoli Slaw, 12-ounce bags, 4122097512.
- Shaved Brussels Sprouts Salad, 10-ounce bags, 4122065112.
- Veggie Toss Kit Caulibit Mushroom Sauce, 11-ounce bags, 4122017706.
- Caulibits Chopped Cauliflower, 14-ounce bags, 4122009327.
- Cauliflower Florets, 10-ounce bags, 4122032278.
- Fiesta Salad, 12-ounce bags, 4122097501.
- Power Slaw, 10-ounce bags, 4122083223.
- Stir Fry Medley, 12-ounce bags, 4122097504.
- Vegetable Medley, 12-ounce bags, 4122097506.
The recalled products were distributed throughout the United States and Canada with “best if used by” dates from Oct. 11 to Oct. 20 listed on the front of the packaging, HEB, Trader Joe's and Walmart are among the retailers affected by the recall.

Consumers who have purchased any recalled products listed below are urged not to consume them, discard them or return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. There have not been any reports of illnesses in connection to the recalls, officials said.
